A fire broke out at an Iranian petrochemical plant on Wednesday, injuring four people, the official IRNA news agency reported.
The plant, Mobin Petrochemical Plant, is located in the gas-rich region of Assalouyh south of the country.
The Governor's office Head of Crisis Management in the province of Bushehr, Qasem Qaedi, was quoted as saying that the fire erupted at Mobin Petrochemical Plant's pressure control station at 11:00 a.m. local time (0630 GMT).
Firefighters managed to contain the flames and the infrastructure of Iran's South Pars gas field is not at risk, Qaedi said.
Mobin Petrochemical Company supplies accessories, water, power, steam, oxygen, nitrogen and condensed air to other petrochemical plants in the South Pars gas field.
Furthermore, the company treats industrial waste-water in the gas-rich region.
During the past month, several similar incidents were reported at Iran's petrochemical plants. Officials have not ruled out the possibility of sabotage.
