Security reports from southern Lebanon have stated that the Israeli army have been forced to freeze construction of the Kfar Kila wall, after the Lebanese army objected to the excavation of the wall beyond its borders, specifically the distance of 65 cm towards the Lebanese side. Israeli forces decided to transfer the building workshops of the separation wall at the gate of Fatima, from the southern end which is adjacent to the Kfar Kila - Al Adesa road, to the northern side which is adjacent to Kfar Kila - Tal Al Nahas road. All of these developments have been ongoing at a time when "UNIFIL" forces continues to monitor the situation, to prevent an escalation of tension and to maintain calm in the region. The Lebanese army had earlier eased its tightened security on the Kfar Kila - Al Adesa road, which in turn led to a Lebanese protest demanding the Israeli workshops stop their activities. "UNIFIL" forces have handled the situation to maintain calm, and have held a meeting between international officers and two army officers from the Marjeyoun barracks, during which they discussed developments of the events that previously occured. As a result, the Lebanese army deployed soldiers onto the Kfar Kila - Al Adesa road, so as to ensure the safety of Lebanese civilians crossing the road that lies parallel to Israeli patrols and work activities. However the Israeli forces continued to bring concrete walls, which will be used in the construction of the separation wall at Fatima gate and will end at the eastern settlement of Misgav.
