
Twenty-three militants were killed during separate military operations across Afghanistan since Saturday morning, said the country's Interior Ministry Sunday."Afghan National Police (ANP), supported by the army and coalition troops, launched several raids in Laghman, Baghlan, Uruzgan, Logar, Khost, Helmand and Nimroz provinces, killing 23 armed Taliban militants and detaining nine other suspects over the past 24 hours," the ministry said in a statement.The ANP also found and seized weapons, it said without saying if there were any casualties on the side of security forces.In addition, the ANP defused 13 anti-vehicle mines in Uruzgan, Logar and Herat provinces at the same period of time, it added.The Taliban insurgent group has yet to make comments.
