Eight Iraqi soldiers, including an officer, have been killed and another solider was injured in an ambush by unknown gunmen against an Iraqi Army patrol in west Iraq''s Anbar province on Tuesday, a security source reported. "A group of unknown gunmen, dressed in military uniform, have set up an ambush in Haditha city, 280 km the west of Ramadi, the center of west Iraq''s Anbar Province, on Tuesday, opening fire on an Army patrol, killing an officer and seven soldiers, along with injuring another soldier," the security source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. He said that an Iraqi Army and Police force had opened a broad investigation, searching for the attackers, who had escaped for an unknown destination.
