Algeria and the European Union (EU) agreed to establish a discussion mechanism

Algeria and the European Union (EU) agreed to establish a discussion mechanism to fight terrorism.Algerian Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League Abdelkader Messahel met with High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, who is currently visiting Algeria.
Messahel said this agreement is vital to the cooperation between both sides and is continuously expanding.Mogherini said they discussed topics of common interest including fighting terrorism, regional conflicts and issues of stability and safety in North Africa. They also discussed the situation in Libya, Mali and the issue of secret immigration.
