Algeria and Spain reiterated their support to a political solution to the crisis in Syria. AFP quoted Algerian Foreign Minister, Mourad Medelci, as saying in a joint press conference with his Spanish counterpart, Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, that the language of violence is negative and the only calls now are for starting dialogue. For his part the Spanish Foreign Minister stressed that there can not be a military solution to the crisis, asserting that the solution should be through dialogue. He expressed hope that the international conference on Syria in Geneva would reach a political solution to the crisis in Syria and a dialogue among the Syrians to curb the acts of violence.
