The Arab Parliament on Thursday condemned the approval of the so-called 'Muezzin' bill by the Israeli Knesset on Wednesday.
Chairman of the Arab Parliament Dr. Meshaal Al-Salmi said in a statement today that this law is a flagrant violation of freedom of worship and represents an assault against the Palestinian cultural, historical and civilizational heritage as well as a violation of freedom of belief. This law confirms Israel's racial segregation policies against other races or religions, he went on saying.
Dr. Al-Salmi urged the international community, the UN, the UN Security Council along with competent international institutions, particularly the UNESCO to condemn this racist law; immediately intervene to end Israeli flagrant violations and to stop this aggressive campaign targeting the Islamic Holy Sites in occupied Palestine. He also stressed the need to put pressure on the Knesset to disapprove this extremist law before it enters into force.
