‘Arvind Kejriwal must apologize to Jaitley’

The BJP demanded a public apology from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday for linking Arun Jaitley to alleged irregularities in Delhi’s cricket association, pointing out that a city government panel found no evidence of wrongdoing against the finance minister.
According to The Hindustan Times, BJP spokesperson M. J. Akbar accused the Delhi government of drama and said Kejriwal should admit his fault in court — where Jaitley has filed civil and criminal defamation suits against him and five other AAP leaders.
“The truth is out. The report does not name Jaitley. There is no allegation against him, there is no indication (of wrong doing). The Delhi CM, we believe, should apologize to Jaitley for his allegations...he should publicly apologize,” Akbar told reporters.
Minutes later, the AAP fired back in an apparent tit-for-tat response, accusing the BJP of running away from charges and shielding corruption.
“All we want is a fair probe into #DDCA affairs. Why’s Jaitley running away from it?,” Ashutosh asked.
HT had reported on Friday that a three-member panel set up by the AAP government to investigate corruption claims in the DDCA last month didn’t mention Jaitley’s name anywhere or made any direct allegations against him.
