President of the Pan African Youth Union (PYU) Francine Muyumba praised Sunday Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s initiative, making 2016 a year of youth.
Having Egypt’s support to assume the post a year ago, Muyumba expressed her desire to activate cooperation between the African Union (AU) and Egypt.
Muyumba said she was looking forward to visiting Egypt soon and holding a meeting with Sisi, along with the Egyptian foreign, youth and sports ministers.
The African union’s official wants to discuss ways of cooperation with Egypt and restoring its leading role in Africa through youth empowerment.
She called on Cairo to take part in the efforts of establishing a fund for developing African youth, as the AU planed for making 2017 a year of youth in Africa.
