Ayatollah Khamenei meets assembly of experts

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Thursday held a meeting with members of the Assembly of Experts. Prior to the meeting, members of Assembly of Experts visited the mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini in downtown Tehran Thursday morning to renew allegiance to the Founder of the Islamic Republic. They paid tribute to the Father of the Islamic Revolution by laying a wreath at his tomb. Assembly of Experts is constitutionally tasked to elect the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and supervise his performance. Assembly of Experts representatives are elected for eight-year terms in a general election.
