
Azerbaijan's Transportation Minister Ziya Mammadov in a meeting with Iranian Minister of Road and Urbanization Abbas Akhoundi called for railroad network connection with Iran. The meeting was held in Ankara on the sidelines of the 11th International Conference of Transport, Maritime and Communication in Istanbul. The two sides, in the meeting, underlined importance of transportation in expansion of economic ties between Iran and Azerbaijan Republic, the Islamic republic news agency reported. Mammadov also appreciated Iran for providing Azerbaijan Republic vehicles with facilities on Iran's roads. Akhoundi arrived in Istanbul heading a delegation on Wednesday evening. 16 ministers and six deputy ministers from different countries had participated in the 3-day conference.
