On the sidelines of the 22nd session of the Human Rights Council, in Geneva, the Bahraini delegation, led by the Human Rights Affairs Minister Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman, met Permanent Representative of the Jordanian Mission to Geneva and Coordinator of the Asian Group at the Human Rights Council Ambassador Rajab Sekhiri. The Human Rights Minister lauded solid fraternal relations between Bahrain and Jordan and growing bilateral cooperation in various fields. He praised the key role played by the Arab ambassadors and the Asian Group in the Human Rights Council as well as their support to Bahrain. He pointed out similarity between the democratic and reform experiences in Bahrain and Jordan which stems from the leaderships' keenness to achieve gradual development that meets the aspirations of the people for more prosperity and security. He also updated the Jordanian ambassador on Bahrain's recent civilisational and human rights accomplishments, including mainly the positive response of the political powers to the royal call to resume the National Consensus Dialogue to discuss pending political issues. On his part, the Jordanian ambassador commended Bahrain's democratic and human rights achievements, adding that the kingdom has made big strides in its reform march at all levels. He lauded the royal initiative calling for resumption of the National Consensus Dialogue, urging to support the leadership and prevent any foreign interference in the Bahraini affairs.
