
A Bahraini delegation today held a meeting with Russian State Duma Deputy Speaker for the Middle Eastern Nikolai Levichev. Led by Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee Chairman Mp. Abdulrahman Rashid Boumjeed, the delegation briefed the Russian official on developments in Bahrain and the flagrant Iranian interference in the Kingdom’s internal affairs. The two sides discussed regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest. Russian State Duma Deputy Speaker for the Middle Eastern Nikolai Levichev stressed non-interference in Bahrain’s internal affairs, announcing plans to set up a parliamentary friendship society. Mr. Levichev welcomed the establishment of a Bahraini-Russian Friendship Association, hailing the role of Bahraini women in the legislative authority and political life. The delegation also met Russian-Arab Business Council President Tatiana Gvilava in presence of representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and discussed economic and trade cooperation. The delegation includes Mps Jawad Bouhussain, Ahmed Al-Saati, Ali Al-Durazi, Ahmed Al-Mulla and Sawsan Taqawi.
