Egypt national defense council meets after failed assassination attempt

Interim Egyptian President Adly Mansour chaired Saturday a meeting of the National Defense Council. The Egyptian Presidency released a statement after today's meeting and said that Mansour reviewed the latest security preparations of the back of the latest security breaches in the country. The statement said that they approved a plan that will bolster security and stability in the country. Egypt's Minister of Interior Mohammed Ibrahim was subjected Thursday to an assassination attempt by unkown militants who used a car bomb. The explosion led to a number of injuries and damage to markets near the explosion.
