
Deputy Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Ossama and Egyptian Electricity Holding Company chairperson Gaber Desouky have discussed with Spanish Secretary of State for Trade Maria Luisa Poncela and Spanish Ambassador to Egypt Arturo Affilio ways of boosting cooperation between the two countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, which was held on Monday evening, Gaber hailed the Egyptian-Spanish ties, adding that Egypt is keen on boosting economic, trade and social ties with all countries.
He also pointed out to the challenges which faced the sector over the past period, along with measures taken to bridge the gap between supply and demand.
The meeting discussed cooperation between Egypt and Spain in the renewable energy sphere, he added.
The Spanish minister, for her part, said that her country is keen on promoting cooperation with Egypt in the energy sphere.
The Spanish companies are looking forward to contributing to projects related to solar energy stations and improving energy efficiency in Egypt, she added.
