Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his Norwegian and UK counterparts on the sidelines of an anti-Daesh conference meeting in the United States.
In statements, ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said the Egyptian top diplomat congratulated the newly-appointed British Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson, for assuming his post and discussed with him bilateral relations and regional developments, especially in Libya and Syria.
As for his meeting with Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende, the spokesman said, it mainly focused on the Palestinian issue and regional and international pro-peace efforts.
Egypt’s efforts for encouraging the Palestinian and Israeli sides to resume peace talks were also high on the agenda, together with the developments in Libya and Syria, according to the spokesman.
Anti-Daesh efforts had also figured high on the agenda of both meetings, he added.
