
A German lawmaker - who is due in Egypt on Sunday - said the recent visit by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Egypt proves that it is safe and stable state.
In statements to MENA on Wednesday, Chairperson of the German-Egyptian Parliamentary Friendship Group Karin Maag said she will lead a 12-strong delegation on a visit to Egypt.
Maag said she will hold talks with MP Mohamed el Orabi on means of fostering parliamentary ties.
She underlined the depth of the Egyptian-German parliamentary relations, noting that her visit - which is the first - is meant to further bilateral ties and exchange views on various issues of mutual concern.
She noted that Merkel's visit to Egyptian tourist sites sent a message to German tourists that Egypt is safe and stable.
She added that Merkel had lauded cooperation with Egypt vis-a-vis vital issues, especially the Syrian and Libyan crises as well as illegal immigration and refugees issues.
