German Ambassador in Cairo Julius George Luy said the British probe into the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) are not new and do not contradict Berlin's policies.
In statements to MENA on Thursday, the German diplomat said there are a lot of German studies on the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and their networks in the Arab World.
He was responding to a question on the type of measures Germany could take in the wake of the outcome of British investigations on the Moslem Brotherhood.
He called for differentiating between political dissidents and those who are ready to use violence to achieve their goals.
The German ambassador asserted that the criticism of the government is considered a democratic right and that strong democracy can deal with demonstrations and dissidence, but he called for dealing strongly with acts of violence and terrorism which he described as major political challenge .
