Houssem Trabelsi, Monia Moalla sentenced to one year in prison

Defendant Houssem Trabelsi, relative of Leila Trabelsi, wife of the former President Ben Ali was sentenced to 1 year in prison in the Star Academy IV case. The Criminal Chamber of the Court of First Instance of Sfax I also sentenced Monia Moalla in absentia to 1 year in prison in the same case of unintentional murder and injury. Both accused should pay a fine ranging from 7 to 15 thousand dinars to families of the victims. After the verdict, relatives of the victims were torn between satisfaction and discontent at this trial which was adjourned on several occasions. The incident that occurred at the Star Academy IV concert in 2007 in Sidi Mansour summer theatre in Sfax had killed 7 young girls and boys and injured 35.
