Recent German intelligence reports show that Iran’s regime stepped up its efforts to acquire advanced nuclear technology which shows last year’s nuclear deal with Iran will never guarantee a world safe from an Iranian nuclear threat.
The Iranian regime developed nuclear capacities behind shut curtains over the past few years, managing to mislead Western powers and using complex and illusory political tactics.
Responding to German intelligence reports that Iran has been trying to acquire nuclear technology in Germany, Berlin said that certain forces in Iran may be trying to undermine the nuclear deal.
Germany’s domestic intelligence agency said in its annual report that Iranian efforts to illegally procure technology, especially in the nuclear area, had continued at a “high level” in 2015.
UN chief Ban Ki-moon said in a report to the Security Council that Iran’s ballistic missile tests in March were “not consistent” with the spirit of the nuclear agreement signed with world powers.
The secretary general, in a confidential report that AFP saw on Friday, left it up to the Security Council to determine what, if anything, should be done in response.
“While it is for the Security Council to interpret its own resolutions, I am concerned that those ballistic missile launches are not consistent with the constructive spirit demonstrated by the signing” of the nuclear deal, reads part of Ban’s 16-page report.
