Maintaining that India and China were trying to have more understanding between them, India on Monday said that it was strengthening its capabilities along the disputed Indo-China border. India's Defence minister, AK Antony while speaking with the media on the sidelines of a function, said India was "strengthening its capabilities on the border". "We are taking the two steps together of strengthening capabilities and dialogue," Antony said. He said India and China have unsettled borders and talks were on to find "an amicable solution to the long pending dispute". "We are trying to have more understanding with them," Antony said, adding, joint exercise between India and China would take place soon. He said both countries were working on a "more practical and effective" mechanism to prevent face-offs between their respective troops along disputed border. India has openly voiced concerns that Chinese army is often trespassing into their borders mainly in the Indian administered Kashmir's Ladakh region. Due to moutning tensions on the eastern borders, Indian government on July approved the formation of Mountain Strike Corps comprising of 40,000 soldiers who would be posted along the Chinese border to counter its (china's) influence.
