
Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr took part in a workshop organized by the World Bank on Sunday on ways of achieving the goals of sustainable development.
Representatives of Sweden, Jordan and Lebanon took part in the workshop.
Addressing the workshop, Nasr said Egypt has a strong plan to put into effect the goals of sustainable development as the government believes that overall and sustainable development is an essential constitutional value.
In this respect, Egypt formed a committee grouping all ministries concerned under Prime Minister Sherif Ismail to follow up the implementation of these goals, she added.
She pointed out that the government, the private sector and the civil society work together to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
In parallel with achieving the goals of sustainable development, the government works on carrying out a social reform program that was developed by all partners concerned with giving a top priority to fighting poverty and increasing economic growth, she said.
Egypt is investing in human wealth and constitutional capabilities which are the pillars of sustainable development as it believes that developing human capabilities through training will help achieve the goals successfully.
