Iranian deputy FM: All officials united in defending Iran's rights

All officials in the Islamic Republic of Iran are united in defending the country's nuclear rights, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ramin Mehman-Parast underscored, rejecting some recent speculations that election of a new president will change the country's nuclear policies. "The principles of the Islamic Republic's foreign policy are stable, but different methods might be used for practicing them," Mehman-Parast said in a meeting with the chairman and members of the Indonesian parliament's National Security Commission in Jakarta on Tuesday. "All officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran underline Iran's inalienable right to use the peaceful nuclear know-how," he said, adding, "There is a unity of views about pursuing the Iranian nation's nuclear right." In relevant remarks yesterday, Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Hassan Danayeefar underlined that the election of the new President, Hassan Rouhani, in the Friday polling in Iran will not cause a fundamental change in the country's foreign policy principles. "Iran's foreign policy is completely principled and has a drawn map and is unchangeable," Danayeefar said in a statement on Monday. "Yet, the considerations of Iran's new president will affect the country's foreign policy," he added. Rouhani won Iran's presidential election on Friday with over 50% of the votes cast in his favor. Iran's Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar announced Saturday evening that from a total number of 36,704,156 ballots cast in Iran's 11th presidential election on Friday June 14, Rouhani won 18,613,329 votes while his main rival Mohammad Qalibaf could secure only 6,077,292 votes.
