
Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe hopes with fruitful discussions with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin of a diversity of issues, including the problem of the peace agreement. “I hope for a fruitful exchange of views on various aspects - politics, culture, the problem of a peace agreement, exchange of citizens,” Abe said during a meeting with Putin. “This meeting will give an additional impetus to our relations.” Putin replied he was happy “to have an opportunity to discuss the bilateral agenda.” “For us, relations between Japan and Russia are top important,” Putin said. “I am pleased that we are developing a constructive dialogue.”
