Jury unable to reach verdict in Freddie Gray police trial

The jury in the first trial of a US policeman accused over the April death of an African American in custody failed to reach a verdict on Wednesday, with the judge declaring a mistrial.
William Porter had been charged with manslaughter in the death of Freddie Gray, who suffered fatal injuries in the back of a police van in Baltimore. Gray's death sparked protests and riots in the East Coast city.
