
A delegation of Kuwait members of parliament (MPs) arrived in Khartoum Saturday for a five-day visit for talks with senior Sudanese officials and lawmakers. Delegation head MP Saleh Ashour said the visit, at the invitation of Sudanese parliament, was within ongoing consultations between the two countries in political, economic and social domains. Speaking to KUNA after arrival, Ashour, who chairs the foreign relations committee at the National Assembly, said Kuwait-Sudanese relations were deep and both countries aspire to further cement them in all fields. Chairman of the Sudanese parliament committee on foreign relations, defense and security Mohammad Al-Hassan Al-Ameen welcomed the Kuwaiti lawmakers and said the visit would elevate the bilateral relations to a new level. Kuwait Ambassador in Khartoum Sulaiman Al-Harbi, in a statement to KUNA, hoped the meetings of the Kuwaiti MPs would be fruitful. He said the parliamentarians would be meeting ministers, MPs and senior state officials. The Kuwaiti delegaiton also include MPs Dr. Salah Al-Atiqi, Dr. Maasouma Al-Mubarak and Safa Al-Hashem.
