
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Silvan Shalom on the sidelines of the conference on the Mediterranean Dialogue in Rome, TASS news agency cited the Russian foreign ministry as saying.
"They exchanged views on the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli affairs and discussed the situation in Syria and Iraq," the ministry said.
"Special attention was focused on consolidation of international efforts against the so-called Islamic State," the ministry said in reference to the Daesh terrorist group.
Lavrov and Shalom also touched upon "some current issues of the bilateral agenda," the ministry added.
