
Lebanese Higher Defence Council (HDC) discussed on a Friday meeting chaired by President Michel Sleiman the security situation in Lebanon and means of strengthening the security apparatuses, mainly, in light of the tension that prevails in the Middle East region and the talks about a possible military action and the expected responses on that.The Council was briefed by the Security Seniors on the field measures taken to protect civil peace, fight terrorism and prevent perpetrators from carrying out their schemes, National News Agency (NNA) reported.Moreover, the Council discussed the displaced Syrians issue and the possibility of the increase in their numbers given the current developments.Caretaker Social Affairs Minister briefed the Council on the procedures taken to receive those displaced and control their actions over the Lebanese territories.
