Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said the Egyptians have chosen their leadership in free and democratic elections.
The remarks were made in response to statements made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Egypt has restraints on dealing with the Turkish leadership which has perplexed regional policy.
In his remarks, Erdogan said his country has no problems in dealing with the Egyptian people, but only with their leadership, slamming at the judicial ruling issued against members of the Muslims Brotherhood group.
The Ministry spokesman said it is important to remind the Turkish leadership to respect the free will of the people to establish normal relations between countries.
