Israel is the only beneficiary of the prolonged negotiations over the Palestinian issue, former Arab League (AL) chief Amr Moussa said.
The Arab-Palestinian side meanwhile incurred heavy losses because the negotiation process was not serious enough, Moussa said at a symposium organized by the Paris-based Arab World Institute on Wednesday.
The negotiation process should be based on clear determinants and limited to specific time, he noted.
The coming Arab Summit, which will be held in Jordan, is of great importance in light of challenges besetting the Arab region, such as the US' possible recognition of al Quds as the Israeli capital, he added.
Moussa called also for involving Arab countries in talks to settle the Syrian, Iraqi, Libyan and Yemeni crises, instead of depending on non-Arab countries, such as Iran, Turkey, Russia and the US.
