Budapest - Anadolu

Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) declared their solidarity with the Turkish government after the Gezi Park incidents. The Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) Netherlands branch noted that they were concerned about the broadcasts of the western media and statements of politicians after the Gezi Park incidents. In a press statement released, the UETD member of the board Abdurrahman Unal said, "We saw how illegal protests were cracked down in several western countries." Unal underlined that they expect a responsible stance of the western media and added, "As European Turks we call on the government and the protestors to solve the problems with the help of a dialogue." The Union of European Turkish Democrats (UETD) France branch said in a press statement that the incidents around the Gezi Park protests reached a point where the social peace and harmony were in danger. UETD France said, "Turkey has to protect its stability and continue to strengthen its democracy." The statement said that Turkey was a democratic state and that the right of assembly and demonstration were given and highlighted, "It's not acceptable to share the truths in Turkey in a different way with the international community." Turkish-Hungarian Businessmen's Association said in a statement that foreign powers have an interest to block Turkey's economic growth by the Taksim Gezi Park-oriented developments. Osman Shahbaz said at the meeting in the Hosok tere square in Budapest, "we stand by the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan and his honorable stand" and noted that they were proud of the achievments of the government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the last decade.
