
US President Barack Obama will meet next Friday September at the White House The Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the White House announced last night. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said in a statement that the visit "will highlight the enduring strength of the US-Kuwait relationship and the friendship between the American and Kuwaiti people." Obama "looks forward to discussing with the Emir a wide range of critical interests and important developments in the Gulf region and broader Middle East. "The United States and Kuwait have a strong relationship, reflecting our common strategic interests, close defense partnership, and shared commitment to promoting peace, economic opportunity, and stability worldwide," the statement said
