One person was killed and four others were wounded Sunday in an armed clash between supporters of Hizbullah and Salafist cleric Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir in the Ain al- Hilweh neighborhood of Lebanon's southern city of Sidon, the National News Agency reported. The NNA report identified the slain as Lobnan al-Ezz. It added that Hizbullah's official in Sidon Sheikh Zeid al-Daher and his bodyguard who belongs to al-Dirani family were also wounded in the gunfight. Later, al-Jadeed television reported that the Taamir Ain al- Hilweh neighborhood was witnessing a cautious calm amid a heavy deployment by the Lebanese army troops. In the wake of the clash, Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Miqati asked Interior Minister Marwan Charbel to convene an emergency meeting to discuss the situation.
