George Sabra, head of opposition group Syrian National Council, has said Turkey has been helpful to the Syrian people throughout the more than two year old civil war that has left the country in ruins. "Turkey is Syria's best friend. We are very unfortunate that there is only one Turkey," Sabra said Sunday following a meeting in Canada on a possible military strike in Syria. “If there were two or three more countries like Turkey, everything would be different. Since the uprising began, we have received every kind of aid and support from both the Turkish government and people." Turkey has been a vocal critic of Bashar al-Assad’s government and has indicated it supports military action against the Syrian regime.
