
Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Patriarch John X Yazigi, said that "We are advocates of peace and amity." In a press conference in Beirut on Monday, Patriarch Yazigi stressed that the Holy Synod of Antioch at the Patriarchal Monastery of Our Lady of Balamand will discuss efforts to release bishop of the Greek Orthodox Church, Boulos Yazigi, and bishop, John Ibrahim of the Assyrian Orthodox Church, who were kidnapped by gunmen in north Syria. "we pray and work for the stability in our country and realizing peace and right in the whole world, he said. He added that the synod will discuss what is taking place in Syria and Lebanon. The Patriarch stressed the important role of the Christians in the region, particularly in this critical circumstances which show sectarian intolerance and extremism, calling for wisdom and moderation.
