The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has strongly condemned the heinous crime of setting fire to a mosque in Qasra Village, South of Nablus, in the West Bank, by extremist settlers on Monday. He noted in a press release the OIC issued here today, that continued attack on mosques is a grave violation of freedom of worship and sanctity of Islamic holy sites. The OIC secretary general declared that criminal acts such as this vicious attack required counter measures, and held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the dangerous aggression of the extremist settlers against the Palestinian people, their properties and holy sites. Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu meantime called upon the international community and human rights organizations to work towards stopping these kinds of aggressions capable of drawing the region into a new round of violence and tension.
