Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Ahmed Karti today complained to the United Nations Security Council over violations by South Sudan government of the comprehensive peace agreement’s provisions. The Sudanese Foreign Ministry accused South Sudan of causing instability, disrupting peace and offering support to rebel groups in the South Kordofan state. Karti was quoted by Sudanese news agency (SUNA) as saying that Sudan was committed to stability and peace, but that the South Sudanese government was “hostile” towards the north. He accused South Sudan state of adopting a hostile attitude towards the Republic of Sudan, hosting rebel groups from Darfur and offering them camps, shelter, training and equipping with arms to be used against the Sudanese republic.
