At least ten persons were killed and more than 30 others were wounded in a suicide explosion Wednesday in Southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta, police said. The explosion took place in the parking area of a Shi'ite mosque when the worshippers were heading home after offering Eid prayer in Gulistan Road of Quetta, capital of Baluchistan province. According to City Police Chief Officer (CCPO) Ahsan Mehboob the suicide bomber wanted to drive his explosive-laden vehicle into the mosque but failed to get close enough owing to strict security measures. Instead, said the CCPO, the bomber detonated his vehicle in the parking area. The explosion killed ten persons and wounded over 20 others, said the CCPO. He said that two houses were also destroyed and several vehicles were damaged in the explosion.
