
Suspected killer of Secretary of Ingushetia’s Security Council Akhmet Kotiyev has been detained in Grozny, spokesman for the Russian Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass on Wednesday. “The Main Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee in the North Caucasus Federal District detained Artur Dolsayev, born in 1986, in Grozny in the criminal case over the murder of Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Ingushetia Akhmet Kotiyev and police officer Ruslan Kotiyev,” he said. “The detectives found that the detainee is a Wahhabism supporter. They found that Dolsayev have been tracking down Kotiyev driving from Malgobek to Magas on the orders of a member of the gang for several days,” Markin said. How Akhmed Kotiyev was killed Secretary of Ingushetia’s Security Council Akhmed Kotiyev, who was injured in an attempt on his life, died on August 27. A VAZ-21099 car, in which Kotiyev and his driver were driving, came under fire at 07:30 Moscow time on Tuesday on the Malgobek-Nazran road near the settlement of Nizhniye Achaluki in Malgobek district of the republic. The driver died instantaneously at the murder scene, Akhmed Kotiyev died on the way to the hospital. The attackers escaped. The previous attempt on the life of Kotiyev was committed about a year ago. At that time an unidentified gunman shot at Kotiyev’s house from an underbarrel grenade launcher; the house was damaged, but Kotiyev was not injured during the incident.
