Tunisian interim Prime Minister Beji Caid Essebsi flew to Paris Thursday to attend an international conference on Libya, the official press agency TAP reported. Essebsi will hold talks with world leaders taking part in the event, which gathers senior officials from 60 countries on Thursday, TAP said. On Aug. 20, Tunisia recognized Libya's National Transition Council (NTC) as the sole representative of the Libyan people. The "Friends of Libya" conference will be co-hosted by French President Nicolas Sarkozy and British Prime Minister David Cameron. Leaders of the NTC will attend the conference. The conference is expected to discuss the political and economic support to the North African country after Muammar Gaddafi's ouster.
