For the second time within a week, violent clashes erupted in Jerusalem's Temple Mount on Friday, Israeli Police spokesperson Mickey Rosenfeld confirmed to Xinhua. On Friday, scores of Israeli policemen charged the site after Palestinian youngsters hurled stones at security forces following Friday Muslim prayers, and evacuated them from the premises. Several worshippers and one policeman were very lightly injured, Magin David Adom (Israeli Emergency Services) spokesperson Zaki Heller told Xinhua. Rosenfeld also said that the police force used stun grenades to disperse the stone throwers and no arrests had been made. Temple Mount is a holy site for both Jews and Muslims. The site is run by the Muslim Waqf and guarded by Israeli security forces. However, it is considered a source of strife between worshippers of both religions. Jerusalem Police forces beefed up security measures across the city after exposing earlier this week a plot to set off a bomb in a Jerusalem Mall by two suspects who were recruited by the Hamas militant group.
