Voting began early Wednesday across the Netherlands in a closely watched general election. Some 13 million people are eligible to cast a ballot for up to 28 parties, depending on the region.
The race, dominated by Prime Minister Mark Rutte's centre-right party and that of anti-immigrant politician Geert Wilders, is seen as a test of nationalist feeling.
Up to 14 parties are expected to gain at least one seat in the 150-member lower house. According to the Central Bureau for Statistics, there are 12.9 million eligible voters in the Netherlands, and a further 70,000 abroad.
