A total of 1178 Syrian refugees entered Jordanian territory over the past 24 hours, Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) representative to Jordan Andrew Harper said in a press statement today. He added that the Jordanian border guards transferred the refugees to the Zaatari camp and other shelters and provided them with the necessary relief materials, pointing to the growing number of refugees who have recently entered the Jordanian territory because of the increasing intensity of the fighting between the forces of the free army and the Syrian regime forces, especially in the areas near the Jordanian-Syrian border . The number of Syrian refugees who have been granted approval for voluntary return reached 156 refugees during the 24 hours.
