Alexandria Patriarch for Coptic Catholics Ibrahim Ishaq has hailed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's initiative for re-building and renovating churches, which were demolished by terrorist groups.
Ishaq thanked the Egyptian president and Armed Forces men who were in charge of restoring the destroyed churches.
"Today is a day of restoration and a day for our unity as Egyptians to share more sense of belonging to our country," he said during the inauguration of Saint Teresa Church in Assiut city Friday night.
The church was renovated after it had been destroyed following the dispersal of Rabaa and al-Nahda sits-in.
Ishaq also extended condolences to Sisi and Armed Forces leaders and men over the victims who died in the terrorist attack on North Sinai on Friday.
