
The Organising Committee of the third-edition of the Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship, held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Economic Development Board, held a workshop for the semi-finalists.
The workshop, held at Capital Club Bahrain, included 49 semi-finalists representing Bahraini entrepreneurs and companies. The event aimed to introduce the participating businesses to the evaluation criteria that will be followed during this stage and the technical committee comprising of the award partners.
The evaluation phase will be held over a period of three days and will include face-to-face evaluation meetings conducted between the technical committee and the semi-finalists.
"The workshop intended to shed a light on the semi-finals process and the transparent and subjective approach undertaken during this stage. It allows the participants to further understand the process. We will announce the finalists by the 22nd of February," said Project Manager of The Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship, Mr. Faisal Sultan.
The Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship is organized by ‘Tamkeen in association with its’ strategic partners including the Economic Development Board, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the Bahrain Development Bank, the Bahrain Chamber of Industry and Commerce, as well as its’ knowledge advisors, the Arab International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Investment – Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for Investment and Technology in Bahrain, and EY Bahrain.
The Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship includes seven awards categories: Microenterprise of the Year, Start-up of the Year, SME of the Year, Sustainability in Business Award, Enterprise of the Year with International Footprint and Female Entrepreneur of the Year. The Lifetime Achievement Award is not by application.
