After a successful run of events in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Umm al Qaiwain and Ras Al Khaimah, the 15th cycle of EEG’s Annual National environmental campaign "Clean Up UAE" made its way to its final destination in Fujairah on 15th of December where a total 1 tonne of waste was collected.
The event began with Emirates Environmental Group, EEG, welcoming all the participants and shared the details of the campaign.
The continuity of the Clean Up UAE campaign for the last 14 years is solely due to the diligence and whole-hearted participation of every individual. While the core message behind the event has not changed over the years it is essential to reiterate the necessity of preserving the environment by maintaining cleanliness, recycling and making this an integral part of the activities one carries out on a daily basis. It is through such simple operations that one can draw raw materials and other such environmentally valuable material away from landfills, in addition to conserving natural resources from the risk of exhaustion, EEG said.
For EEG, this campaign is more than just a clean-up activity. It goes beyond that as it delivers a strong message to the community about preserving our environment and instilling a culture of volunteerism in the hearts of all the people in the society". EEG believes that it is through actions such as these, that the nation is able to develop and grow even more as a country.
