
The Egyptian Armed Forces began on Thursday one of the biggest military and strategic live-ammunition maneuvers in the Western area with Defense Minister Sedki Sobhi attending.
The wargames include strategic maneuver Galout-8 and tactic maneuver Raad-26, the army said.
A number of army formations and units are taking part in the drills that include several live-ammunition trainings on fighting armed terrorist elements before approaching the international border line.
The exercise aims at honing combat skills of army men in face of different hostilities and securing the country's land and coastal borders in the western area with the participation of the main branches of the army and border guards.
