Tunisian President, Mohamed Moncef El Marzouki, Friday hailed the "positive role" of Algeria in the Malian crisis, stressing his confidence that this role is able to complete the democratic process in the region.
The Algerian initiative, which consists in sponsoring the Inter-Malian inclusive dialogue, is "exceptional," President El Marzouki underscored in a statement to APS, on the sidelines of the 23rd Ordinary AU Summit, held in Malabo (Equatorial Guinea).
"Algeria's role in the Malian crisis is very positive and I am confident that after the establishment of peace in Mali, we can complete the democratic process in the region," he said.
El Marzouki "thanked" Algeria which spends considerable efforts to achieve peace and security in Mali, by peaceful means.
Besides, the Tunisian president stressed he is optimistic about the parliamentary elections held in Libya on Wednesday, hoping to see them reach a national agreement.
Libya's neighbouring countries continue to provide support to this county so as its situation improves, he affirmed.
