The second phase of the executive education programme in governmental communication has sought to build qualified staff to work in communication in the UAE government, in cooperation with the best academic and media organisations, in addition to experts.
The second phase of the programme included a review and discussion of 18 projects from representatives of government communication departments in the local government, as the projects were evaluated by a special committee of experts and academics.
The projects reflected the skills and expertise learned during the programme, as they included governmental communication research, social media, crisis management, as well as planning and managing communication campaigns by using advanced communication tools, according to the best international practices.
Nof Tahlek, Executive Director of the Governmental Communication Office in the General Secretariat of the Cabinet, affirmed that the outcomes of the programme are among the government’s efforts to improve communications, in addition to assuring it remains up to date with the best practices in the field, according to the UAE’s 2021 vision. She added that this group of staff members is going to be followed by other groups.
Furthermore, the second phase of the programme included intense training at the American University of Sharjah last November, along with simulation training and field visits to several specialised media organizations in the UAE, in addition to inviting media experts and speakers from media and governmental bodies.
