Hundreds of FSA rebels defecting to al-Qaeda

Seven armed groups of the so-call Free Syrian Army (FSA) announced on Tuesday that they have defected from the FSA umbrella of rebel groups, and joined the Al-Qaeda organization. The seven armed rebel groups known as the battalions of 'Omar's Grandchildren', 'Soyouf al-Shahba', 'Jond al-Mawali', 'Nour al-Sham al-Eslamiyah', 'al-Ansar', and "Shohad al-Ratyan' parted from the FSA, and joined the al-Nusra Front which is affiliated to the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization. Another armed group, 'al-Ezatollah Battalion', also defected from the FSA to join the Al-Qaeda group, 'Jeish al-Eslam', which is under the command of a terrorist named Zahran Alvash. Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against Syrian police forces and border guards being reported across the country. Hundreds of people, including members of the security forces, have been killed, when some protest rallies turned into armed clashes. The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad. Tel Aviv, Washington and some Arab capitals have been staging various plots to topple President Bashar al-Assad, who is well known in the world for his anti-Israeli stances.
